white chairs. stop-motion-lab

Performance in the framework of netznetz – Festival der Netzkultur in Künstlerhaus Wien 15-17/10/2004

idea / concept | performance alexandra reill
production kanonmedia | vienna 2004

A work table with a laptop and a small office beamer is arranged at right angles, near a white wall. For the duration of the festival, Alexandra Reill declared the setting as her workplace at which day after day she created countless individual steps of changes in one photo after the other – image-edited step-shifted and thus minimal movement-generating new images that were to form the visual material for the experimental film white chairs. The work processes taking place on the laptop were captured by the beamer and in an area of approx. 40 x 30 cm projected onto the white wall.
Festival visitors were able to settle in a second work chair and have conversations with the artist.
