Originally trained in dance, Paula Crutchlow has been making live events as a co-devisor and director with performers, visual artists and technologists in the UK and internationally since 1996. As a founder member of Blind Ditch she has been a co-visioner, director, workshop facilitator, producer and occasional performer with the group. She is also currently Creative Adviser for Adverse Camber directing collaborations between some of the UK’s leading storytellers and international musicians. She has an MA in Devised Theatre from Dartington College of Arts where she was an associate lecturer in Theatre 2001-10. Paula is currently an ESRC funded PhD researcher in Critical Human Geography at University of Exeter investigating relationships between art activism and digital media.

Helen Varley Jamieson is a writer, theatre-maker and digital artist. She is a founding member of the globally dispersed cyberformance troupe Avatar Body Collision and one of the coordinators of UpStage, a platform for cyberformance. A diverse career has led to her experimental arts practice in the use of the internet as a site for live performance, specifically in bringing remote performers together in live theatrical events. She calls this new art form cyberformance. Helen created her first web page in 1994, and has worked professionally in the internet industry since 1997 doing web site construction and maintenance, web copywriting, consultation and project management, for clients from large corporations to individual artists.
