Gipsy Stop Dancing ist das erste Projekt des von den Schauspielerinnen Sandra Selimovic und Simonida Jovanovic und der Autorin Gilda Horvath gegründeten Theatervereins Romano Svato (= Sprache/Zunge der Roma). Im Zentrum der Handlung steht eine junge Frau von Heute, die sich als Boxerin nach oben kämpft und damit zum politischen Spielball einer rechtsextremistischen Regierung wird. Als erfolgreiche, integre Sportlerin und Romni wird sie zu einer Bedrohung, weil gerade ihre Volksgruppe als das Böse, Schmutzige, Faule gilt.
Die Geschichte der Boxerin wird in memoriam Johann Rukeli Trollmann erzählt, der als deutscher Sinto und Boxer 1944 im Außenlager Wittenberge des KZ Neuengamme umgebracht wurde.
The story of the boxer is told in memory of Johann Rukeli Trollmann who as a German Sinti and boxer was murdered in the satellite camp Wittenberge of the Neuengamme concentration camp in 1944.
