opening day is a selection from the opening day series in the projection room of Webbittown / NYC where Red Ed has been running The Slide Show project since 2000 / illustrating & documenting various events in the art scene by concentrating on opening days mainly.

From the ride to the event / to the seemingly endless row of open champagne bottles / to the disheveled mess left on the floor at closing / Red Ed's photo - documentation is delivered in a relentless 6 to 8 second paced slide show.

The viewer is expected to watch passively and re - experience the event. The images run on their own internal time frame - so everyone from Australia to Amsterdam Ave will see the same images.
