|'code scares me'||by Jessica Loseby|
Jessica Loseby: 'I have spent the last year evolving into a net.artist. The fluidity of the Internet is a satisfying and stimulating environment. After training in fine arts' / University College Chichester 1997 - 2000 / 'I have entered an arena where I have had to learn a new vocabulary / code / new artistic concerns / such as virtual space / authenticity / and globalization / and new tools / such as how to turn my computer on ! / .
My work has developed through the use of the software Flash. It has allowed my two unwavering loves - text and skewed perception to move / to interact / and to grow. My work can be humorous / or sometimes unsettling / all that black / but through the net I can stream into peoples own privates spaces / their homes and … / well, mess up their heads. I like that. It gives me an anonymous power. I am learning / evolving / and picking up the tools. Please feel free to watch.'
And last but not least: ' I am married to Clive Loseby, a composer for film and TV. We have three children - Winter / 8 / India / 6 / and Jude / 1 / . I am still involved in many aspects of Disability Rights and believe in the possibility of social action and change - both practically and spiritually. All of these aspects of my life fundamentally influence my work.'
