on news clips: when the tanks are heading towards basra:

this work is a 15 second video collage taken from footages of the invasion of southern iraq by u.s. and british forces. by using a mavica video cam, i successfully captured live images of the u.s. tanks running amidst the desert land of the northern area of um qassr heading towards basra.

this obscured footage of running tanks was juxtaposed by radio static sounds and the pixilated close-up of a TV reporter who is spitting out redundant vocal sounds. this juxtaposition of multi-media images taken from the television is our attempt of deconstructing down shamanistic elements of a mass media that control and cultivate a system of spectators and spectacles.
