| jong pairez & anna cabardo on why the u.s. did this: this work came from and was inspired by conrado de queros line and the photo image released by the daily newspaper philippine daily inquirer during the four days of massive air strikes at baghdad. the work is actually a poster that is meant to be distributed and posted on the wall. well, we have come to think that aside of posting this work on the wall why can't this be posted also on the net since this is also an artwork, and so we did. the beautiful thing of this work is that this work is mass produced, and what does it mean? if this work is mass produced, then we are destroying the idea of authenticity of an artworks value by attacking the concept of art as a well crafted object that is meant to be glorified for being one and only. hmmmmm.... i wonder what would the fluxxus movement of the 60's will say to us. text by the artists |
